About Me

25+ years of building software, from text-based games to AI-powered retail solutions

Jeff Kershner

The Beginning

I started coding at age 10, copying C programs from magazines to create text-based games. That early spark of curiosity has fueled a career spanning over 25 years in software development.

Education

In 1996, I enrolled at SUNY Fredonia to study music education. After a memorable disagreement with a theory professor, I switched to Computer Science. I graduated in 2000 with degrees in both Math and Computer Science.

Professional Journey

After graduation, I relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, starting with a $10/hour internship at a game studio. Since then, my career has taken me through:

  • Gaming companies and a AAA studio in Laguna Beach
  • Five years developing simulation software for government pilot training
  • A decade creating business intelligence systems at a major domain registrar
  • Freelance work serving clients in retail, medical billing, and the oil industry

Current Role

I currently serve as Director of Engineering at RadiusAI, where I deploy artificial intelligence and computer vision solutions across over 1,000 retail locations throughout the United States.

Let's Connect

I'm always open to discussing technical challenges with other engineers. Whether you want to talk shop, collaborate on something interesting, or just say hello, feel free to reach out.
